Talking FD dream, now reality.

I can only imagine Im part of the wave of new FD owners brought on by the 25 year law being met in the states. I've waited a long time to be able to get my hands on a low mileage FD and have finally done so. About a week ago i picked up my freshly imported 92 Efini Rx-7 type-x. I am kind of in a fog as i dont yet believe it. 61k miles (102k kilometers) and quite perfect. Previous owner in japan loved this car, outfitted it with 99 spec bumpers, lights, wing and wheels. i counted 5 braces on this car, they are all over the place. Fully loaded Type-X (first one i personally saw come through import). Mazdapeed exhaust, Mazdaspeed steering wheel, mazdaspeed shifter and e-brake. Autoexe intake, ARC intercooler, Greedy pipes and elbow. no rust anywhere ( i looked EVERYWHERE) Im numb of happiness. As soon as i got it i brought it over to JPR imports to get fully torn down and rebuilt. i will not spare any expense on her and will gladly spend my weekends on maintenance. Goal is to get her back to new status and enjoy it, no ridiculous power. Couple of track days here and there (circuit) and thats all. Im extremely honored and happy to join the rx-7 community and heres to eventually buying another and handing these down to my kids (when i have any lol)

Beautiful car! Congrats, I did the same thing, and was in the same bracket as you. Have always wanted one of these. Hopefully will get to see yours in person some time here on the West coast, between 7's day and the East Coast Rotary Classic.

if you can swing the rebuild, def do it. Nothing like the peace of mind, plus you can then keep tabs on all the maintenance. I paid 20k for it seeing other higher mileage example sell for this or more, it was an easy decision for me

thank you! i was playing with the idea of getting another set, but after seeing that they are real BBS, i immediately decided against that haha

DEF rebuild if you can swing it. Having that peace of mind is 100% worth it in my book. I paid 21k for this one. there where other FD's with more and less miles in the importers inventory. all of them where 20k or more. I dont regret my decisions at all.

thank you! i was slightly concerned that they where fake BBS, but thankfully they where the real deal, stamped and all. after i saw that, i decided to keep the wheels instead of going aftermarket (for now lol)

Thank you all for the kind words! ive tried multiple times to multi-quote people but it seems that functionality is kinda broken, so ill do my best to respond in order after my last response:
jbo88- Thank you!
Mazdaspeed rx8ver2- Thank you! I was very lucky to find my FD outfitted with the 99 stuff, I couldn't believe it when I saw it in person!
Camber FD- Thank you! and def do the rebuild if you can swing it. nothing is better knowing that the maintenance has been done and you have proof. Making your own breadcrumb trail instead of piecing together someone elses. I paid 20k for mine. Based off of all thing things and mileage, I have zero regrets for how much I paid.
ArmAniRX7- Thank you!, I was concerned they where fake but was pleasantly surprised to seem them complete with stamps and all. Ill eventually get a set of Volks, but these will def get sticky tires and used for my track days
johnsJDM,Julie- Thanks man and congrats! we finally did it lol (damn that 25 year law) now to enjoy the **** out of these cars, weve waited long enough!
