Fc restoration

Hey all! I bought my 88 fc in 2005 as my first car, she was love at first sight! I drove her for 2 years until a drunk driver ran into the driver side while parked and it was totaled out. Granted the damage wasn't that bad all that was damaged was the front fender and door no frame damage. After the insurance settlement I ended up buying a 07 mazdaspeed 3.... Bad decision I should have fixed the fc, but hindsight is 50/50 I suppose. After the accident I gave the fc to my parents to use while they were down a car, they drove her for about 5 years but weren't the best at upkeep so she was a bit neglected and stopped holding idle, at that point they parked her without fixing the problem and let her sit for 3 years... That is until a week ago, I finally got possession of her again and got her to start and run but still won't hold idle I plan on fixing her up and changing out the n/a engine for either an s4 or s5 turbo motor eventually as well as fixing the exterior. All I can say is it feels like an old friend is apart of my life again, driving that car after all that time made me feel like I was 18 all over again, so I can't wait to fix her up and have fun all over again!

I know what you mean. I've had 2 FCs. First one I had back in 95. Had blown shocks, but still loved driving it. Let a friend borrow it and she crashed it. Got a second in 02 and all the memories and nostalgia came back, even though I still missed my first FC. Unfortunately I had to sell the second one to make room for kids. I still have parts sitting around, like a set of BBS LM wheels that I haven't gotten rid of yet.
Get her running again and enjoy!

My first car was a white 88 Fc. Loved it! Ended up buy an FD and sold the FC to a friend of a friend. Poor guy only had it for a couple month when somebody broke the window and lit it on fire (must have pissed someone off real good). I always wished I would have just kept it and had both.

Good luck with yours!
