Red face Running single w/o vacuum lines to the oil injectors

What kind of estimated damage would you get running 0-4 lbs of boost about 25% of the time for 40 miles on a new single turbo motor.

The question I want to pose to the forum is this:

Would there be any potential damage to the rotors or would it reduce the life of the motor?

Let me know your feedback

Rick

theres no problem capping those oil injectors off...those hoses are used for "venting". just make sure the oil feed line is secure

They are there to equalize pressure under boost, do not cap them off. You should be OK since you were still oiling in vaccum conditions and pobably only experienced reduced oiling under boost.

IGY: are you saying those lines are under boost? if you follow those vaccum lines back they lead back to the primary turbo inlet..

interesting though.. I have those lines capped off for years now with no problems.. I met Cam Worth (Pettit) and he told me theres no problem capping them off. Also after reading through HKS and APEXi single turbo installation instructions..those lines are eventually capped

Ive never had any engine problems.

As I said before, capping it off will reduce oiling under boost conditions, but it will also suck oil out of the lines under vaccum conditions. Most importantly the line is there to equalize pressure so as not to push oil back into the metering pump under boost or suck oil out under vaccum. If anything, I would just leave the nipple open or put one of the filters off one of the solenoids on there so you don't suck in dirt, this is why the line is plumbed in after the air cleaner.
