Cross Country Adventure from Ms.
Hi, Frank here, am planning to fly to Phoenix from Mississippi, pick up a lightly used '86 RX7(58k) and drive it home via Salt Lake City(for the World Superbike races). High adventure, mainly because i know little about the vehicle specifically and in general. Will be gathering info(such as unflooding procedures), and thought i'd join your club in hopes of getting a leg up on any problem areas. I am "moderately" mechanically inclined, so i'll give it a once over, maybe replace an odd belt or hose, then hopefully hit the road. Looks like i have a lot of reading to do, first in the faq section. Anyway, onward and upward............

Well Frank, one does have to admire the care-free spirit you have to take such a perilous journey. I'm not into the Superbike schedule, so I don't know if it's already past or what, but I sure hope the whole journey worked out!

Good trip
Well, had a great trip! Chalk it up to good previous maintenance and sheer dumb luck i suppose. Car was reliable, though not without a pretty solid miss between 6 and 7k , probably injectors. Car had just over 56k when i got it, now near 60k. Sure is an "unmolested" example of a 1984 GSL SE RX7. Needs some tlc here and there i suppose, probably start on the miss......i'm in jackson, ms by the way......
