MI Coming to the darkside

Im stopping in to say hello. I purchased a FB 12a (1982) this weekend and drove it ~800 miles home from NC on a whim. We tore up Blue Ridge - what a blast.
In the near future I will be using these forums to help figure out where my drive line vibration is coming from only under throttle.

Down the rabbithole.

Welcome to the forums! Where in Michigan are you? We had a decent meet up all day Saturday on Woodward.

Awesome! No nice roads (or scenery) like anything you could drive at or near Blue Ridge, but Woodward is a pretty fun road to just cruise on in SE MI. Take any pictures of your car?

If by cruise you mean stop light drag, I agree.
I grew up in the area.

After getting under the car ive got some work to do. New idler arm bushings, u-joint, shift centering spring, shifter bushings, and outer tire rods on order.

Nice color! Did you determine the vibrations were the cause of a U joint? Yep, i'm 2 miles from Woodward, grew up here as well.

Thanks pretty sure its a respray. I havent looked at the color code yet. I think the hood is getting gutted and painted black and the wheel centers are going gunmetal.
I think the u-joint was the cause of the vibrations. Otherwise it feels like my diff has a lot of play. (LSD and rear disc conversion in my near future??)

Complete list:
Idler arm now has bushings
Shifter returns to center

Current list:
U-joint is half in (waiting on a replacement order with correct retaining clips)
Outer tie rods and shifter bushings should be in this weekend
Remove rear swaybar

Future list:
Replace broken 80s interior plastics
Alignment
Find the oil leak (fall project)
Strip down the nikki (winter project)
Disassemble spare 12A (winter project)

Add to that, I need to figure out what fuel pressure my car is currently running at. My fuel pump is making some terrible clicking noises. Im not sure its long for this world.
