Chip-n/a 88 gxl?-Boise, Idaho
Hello all! My name is Chip from Boise, ID. I've recently aquired an 88 n/a rx7 for $360. And like most things in life you get what you pay for. Haha. According to the previous owner it has an o2 pump delete and it runs, however I dont even want to attempt until I do an oil change as it was sitting for 3 years. It was sitting due to clutch needing replaced, and he was focusing on his other fc.
Most dash components are missing and or broken. Dash and rear dont work and ive diagnosed that to be fried contacts on the in car harness. Ive gotten a new clutch in but im kind of strapped on time lately and havent gotten around to actually reassembling everything. My priorities right now are getting it on the road.
And second getting it to pass emissions. I know it wont because of the shottily welded autozone single exhaust with 2 of the 3 cats on it, along with the o2 delete. Third is body/paint with slight dings and one dent in the bottom rear quarter panel, along with completely terrible primer job(didnt mask anything). There is a lot of undoing to be done before I start going in the direction id like to go. Im not looking to do a complete race build, just a functional clean street build. No turbo plans im mora an n/a guy, but could possibly do some itbs

Without starting Technical answers in the INTRO section (as you can post any questions IN Tech),I thought I would mention the past experience I had with an old 88.
NO Dash...anyways the guy tried starting it and it wouldn't.
WHY?.there is a relay under the steering column that was removed and it runs the Fuel pump.Just make sure that you have that there when you go to start it up..or else it will not get fuel.
