Baby steps
Greetings fellow members, I've read several bits of threads over the years and really wanted to be a part of this special group of people. I'm new here and just hope to be able to fit in. Thanks for all the knowledge you bring!
I've been in love with rotary engined cars for quite a while. Had my first in high school. It was a 1981 GSL. Since then I've owned several others. I'm on number 7 now. Not trying to brag or anything, just giving a little background on my history with these cars. I'm always open to learn as much as I can about them. Of all the units I've owned, this is the first that I am actually having to do major work on.

Thats a beautiful Dover White SE!!! I see it has painted mirrors. If they're original, its a rare sight to see! I remember your other post in the 1st Gen section reference the engine issues.
For some reason very few of the GSL-SE's had painted mirrors. I've spoken to few people that have been the original owner or have purchased the car from the original owner and their car had the painted mirrors. I've mostly seen them in white but I've seen one other SE in Tender Blue Metallic that had original maroon leather interior and painted mirrors. It must have been special ordered that way as that was not a normal color combination. What's odd is that painted mirrors are not on the options list. Makes me wonder if it was done by the dealer or at port when the car arrived and had the a/c installed.
