AK Greetings from AK

That's AK, as in "Alaska"... not "Arkansas". My name is Will. I've been wanting an RX7 for a while, but the right one never came along until last week.

It's a 1988 RX7 GXL, prepped to SCCA IT rules and is ready to race. Besides some on-track differences of opinion resulting in minor body dents and dings, it runs great and has no major problems. Next race will be on ice, probably sometime in January... or whenever the lakes freeze up enough to race in!

Welcome aboard!

haha... thanks. It's got a few minor issues i'm working on. It has a strange whine coming from the rear somewhere. It's very faint though and i can only hear it at low speeds, so it might not even be a problem. I need to have the cage modified at some point in the future. With my helmet on, my head rests up against the halo bar, so i'd like to push that out a bit if i can. I'd also like to move the seat. It's a solid mount Kirkey road race seat and the previous owner was a little taller than i am and liked sitting a lot more reclined than i do.

Oh yeah, i also got 3 extra sets of wheels and tires with it, plus the new steelies it's wearing now that have brand new Nitto NT01s on them. With a couple of minor changes, the car could be street legal... haha.

I can see everybody giving that car a very wide berth in traffic and not just from the exhaust note.
