Another Newbie
Hey guys, just wanted to say hello to everyone.
I really only just joined this forum with a question... well okay maybe a couple of questions. I know I don't drive an RX7 but I am currently eye balling up at a local dealership. I don't know much about Rotary Engines but I've been wanting to know and own one for quite sometime.

Welcome. research rotaries before you buy one. Look at the tech forums for common problems. Before you buy one know that a good one can be a fun car. A cheap one, that needs some work can be an expensiive nightmare. I have never built a rotary engine, but in the back of my mind, I knew that that would be the funnest and most expensive part of owning a 7.
dont drive
one till you research it... if you do you will fall in love with it never want any other car and by doing this you might get you self in a pit you cant get out!!
i love rx's so research and make sure you dont get a lemon!!! goodluck

Good luck I am also researching a bit because I think I want my next car to be an RX-7. From what I read they are a little difficult to maintain, sometimes but then again my last car wasn't exactly easy either so really leaning towards one right now since they seem very fun to drive and very nice as a pure sports type of car.

Thank you guys for the welcome. I found an 85' GSL SE with some high mileage for 4k down the road from my place. I haven't gone and looked under the bonnet yet but so far the outside and interior of the car are beautiful so, sometime when the weather clears up I'm going to go and get the dealership to pop the hood and start it, and perhaps take it for a spin. I'm not really looking for it to be in 100% super awesome shape, I would to have to pop it and do alittle bit of work, my main fear is just that the engine is going to need a rebuild asap. After I drive it I'll come back here (only in the technical section) and post what the car was like, how it started, looked liked, and ran.

It's been expensive but I'm glad I bought my FD. Just wish the guy I bought mine from was honest and upfront. He took advantage of the fact that I was in Iraq at the time and reset the ECU so it drove fine and didn't throw any codes while my brother looked it over. Oh well, now I've got a fresh motor ported and a mint FD.
