1st Gen Rx7 Race car
1st Gen Rx7 Race car
Hi all, this is my NASA PTF and SCCA Spec 7 race car, an 84 12a. . It is my second 12a, the first I owned in college. It is a blast to drive and I have spared no expense getting it ready for track duty. I bought it last year from a former racer who retired it about 7 years ago, since then it had been sitting in a shop. I have updated all the safety equipment, she is ready to rock and will re- enter the series in mid March. With the mods allowed it runs very strong, no telling how many races were on it when I bought it but it still runs like a beast and is LOUD!When strapped into it with the window nets, firesuit, harnesses, Hans device, etc, it is a serious driving experience. I would love to update the livery, if anyone has photshop skills please have at it. I have trolled about these forums for almost a year, lots of good info here.

Thanks, the next event is NASA at Motorsports Ranch. Ive never driven there before, looking forward to it. Nice and close to home and a cool hotel right next to the track for the fam to hang out in.
Currently shopping for some fresh TOYO 205/60/13R's if anyone can reccomend a source.

A good sourse I use is Treadzone. They offer contigency for buying tires and finishing order. I run NASA PTE in a 81 RX7 and have had no problems with Treadzone. Go to the Prize $ section on the NASA website for more info.
Oh, well I'm new. My names Ben. So sorry if questions don't make sense. My dads been racing scca since he was 18 with his younger brother. - my uncle and my grandpa. And kinda got out of it when he had y brother and me. But we raced gokarts and stuff till 11, 12. And now I'm 16 and starting scca. So I'll be looking forward to being at all the events and such. Just was browsing an looking for others in the same class.
Ben, Im in Texas-SCCA SW Division. Havent done much with them yet, mostly NASA. I race long distance "enduro" dirt bikes regularly, if youve ever ridden a 55 hp dirtbike all day through gnarly terrain, you know what that means. Now, a few weeks back a friend took me out to his Karting track and let me take a few laps in a Rotax class kart. Ive never had my *** handed to me so harshly and so quickly in all my life. My shoulder still hurts 3 weeks later and the arm pump was insane. Karts are gnarly....
And I want one....

Well cool. Pretty close to me. In Kansas and Midwest. You are in same class for scca spec. But yeah, haven't done much on two wheels. But I have a friend who rides. It's intense. Props on that. Don't know too much about the different regions and how they seperate it. But I'm looking forward to it. And cars looking nice.
