okay folks, names jon and this is my third 1st gen 7.
my first was a 1983 that had a few mods but pretty much left alone.
this one i want to go all out on.

the second old one is the track car that we paint a big double 7 across

okay so it was late when i posted the new one is a 1983 lol
i paid 500 for it. and i finally got it running yesterday.
the exhaust was full of mice not no more!!!
the carb needs built/ upgrade.
the interior is shot and needs massive help.
but other than that its good to go

are you going to rebuild the carb yourself? or change it?

Interior can be easy. Find a friend who knows how to sew, even chicks will love helping you.. go to a fabric store and pick out a fabric and sew away at the seats if you don't mind the ghettoness. I patched up a few car seats already by hand and even thou it's time consuming, it's so worth it with the final finish.
If you have Cigarette holes in the seats, stich over it with new fabric or if you don't want it like that.. go to a detailer shop and those guys fix the cigarette burn holes for cheap and it ends up looking original.

no i sent it to a buddy in colorado. his dad can rebuild those damn nikki's with his eyes closed. and for 75 + shipping you cant beat the price.
he also had a full interior out of a '85 full grey he sold me for $40
plus shipping

so this is the project. got the dash out without problem. got the carpet out(wet and moldy) from where it had been sitting with the roof open
got the seats out(no change in cracks) bought it from a broke guy hahaha

also removed all plastic pieces hopefully get some pics out of it stripped

i dont like spotting garages posts due to them then ripping me off later but since i worked there here goes........ i will ask him how much it is for everyone else just for further notice.

also can someone please post a link for removing the "rat's nest" from the top of my engine please. i need to know what i can and cant remove and as i am still have issues staying logged in it is a bit time consuming to look for it.
