If it runs why are you talking about dropping a v8 in it on another thread? Keep the rotary!"

It runs ok but it takes a gallon of coolant every other day. and that post about v8's wasnt for my car i was just giving my 2 cents about what the other guys topic was.

The wheels are friends i know they don't fit just for ***** and giggles.

The coolant seals are probably going , if you see thick white smoke on startup and the engine is also sputtering on startup then clearing up its definitely the coolant seals.

The seals are actually very inexpensive, the main problem is to install them requires a complete engine removal, dissassembly/reassembly, and you may need a new iron (part of engine) if the coolant passages have cracked/broken, these are relatively cheap too (used 50-150$).

The labor will cost you around $500 if you takeout the engine yourself and install it, or you can take your chances and look for a good used running engine.

Trust me it'll cost less to keep it a rotary then swap a completely different motor in.

How many miles are on the car/engine? If they're relatively high you're better off getting it completely rebuilt.

I was also reading up on the rebuild kits and they aren't cheap. I don't think I'd rebuild this engine because its been over heated to many times. I'd like to find a good used engine that hasn't been and rebuild that.

You can usually find a good running engine for $400-500 if you are patient and search around.

As far as your engine , it could still have some usable parts as long as they aren't rusty, warped, or corroded (as well as in spec)
