wiring turn signals to be bright continuosly?

FC Related...

What I am trying to do is wire the turn signal lights to be bright continuously...while having the daytime running lights on and using the blinker the lights are brighter when they blink...is there a way to get them that bright all the time and have them blink on and off instead of change in intensity...im def not electrically inclined...and it was just a thoguht

I have my turn signals on my civic really bright, the car stereo shop give me relays to put inline when I was wiring up my sidemarkers, and they are extremely bright. The only problem is I have gotten pulled over twice because the cops think that I have some aftermarket light and they blind people now.

did they make them brighter than they would possibly go when stock...cause I don't intend for them to project on anything...just light up to the max it goes now (when blinking) cause they seem dim when in daytime running lamp mode

...i would like to know a little more about the relay and how you wired them...theres so much rice in tampa...meaning tons of glo kits blue blinkers you name our rice has it, i doubt theyd care if my turn signals were slightly brighter

I guess the only way for me to explain the relay is to take a picture and send them to you, I don't know anything about them. I had sidemarker installed, and I wanted them to blink with the front blinkers and I also wanted them to turn on when I turned on the parking lights at night, so the car stereo shop wired to relays together and I installed them. They are probably twice as bright as stock. I didn't intend on this, but it just happened that way, it seems that they are somehow getting more power than they used to (but I'm not sure how or why).

The relay can't put out more voltage than it gets from the "high power" side of things... allthough if you're running the signal in paralell, the aperage could be higher...
Either way you'd need a capacitor and or an amp to make the lights go much brighter....

You need two relays, one "connector" and one "interruptor" the connector goes on the headlight, the interruptor on the turn signal...

What happens is, the turn signal bulb (Target) gets its source from the turn signal regardless... through the wires.. but if the turn signal is on, it will interrupt the voltage coming from the parking lights the trick is to keep the parking lights off when the turn signal is off... so what you need is a capacitor on the turnsignal interruptor so it interrupts the headlight signal while the turn signal turns the bulb off...

You'll need to measure the length of time that the turnsignal turns off and get a capacitor that covers your interruptor for that time span, and not much longer....

It's not Easy... You're trying to do something that car designers design switching boards and relay blocks for...

It's much easier than described above. I would just wire the actual signal and daytime light positions on the bulbs to the ignition. I would then run the hot side of the signal wires on the harness to the coil on a relay, and splice the contacts of that relay into the signal/daytime light wire you just wired straight to the ignition.

Now whenever the key is on the signals are bright, and whenever you actually use the turn signals they will flash between bright and off. You may also need to add a resistor into the wire to the relay coil in order to get the proper flash*pause*flash. You won't know until you try it.
