Wing or spoiler?

What do you think is an aluminum or carbon fiber wing to ricey? I like how they look if you get a nice one. Otherwise if I was going to get a spoiler I would go with the Racing beat type 2. Oh this is going on a FD. Any opinions would be appreciated

Mike

Do what you really want to do. I dont like the enormous aluminum wings (like APRs). The Corvis wing is pretty cool, it's not too big, but it isnt small either. If you like the way the aluminums or the CF wings look jsut get them, make sure it matches with how agressive the rest of your car is.

Kinda depends on your taste. I like the factory spoiler, nice subtle looks. If you want all the attention of a big wing them go for it.

my car is plain right now... stock (exterior wise) '93 touring but i've been thinking of putting the APEXI front bumper on it and going with a wing... i like the CF ones but most are elevated too high... i've seen one on a Ferrari 360 by a company called Hamann (sp?) but don't know where to get a wing like that one... it was low... and sweet... i like subtle looks... but the APEXI fr. bumper and that wing would look great on my silver RX...

an alum. or CF wing looks good if you have a full body kit like a Cwest or a mazdaspeed GTC, but if you just have the stock look then go 99 Jspec wing.

99 J-spec wing is good and almost identical to the RB II, but there is no lower cross-connection between the two vertical struts like the RB, which can hide any R1 holes. The RB is more rigid, although heavier so the OEM hatch struts may not hold the hatch up. They both are sweet and accentuate the FD's lines.

If theres a wing to put on the FD its the 99 jspec. First its designed by Mazda and wind tunnel tested. I have never sen any data on the other manufactures .The shape flows with the lines of the car . I admit it isnt cheap but if you drive at high speeds 100+ I would want to feel secure I had a wing that was designed to keep the car on the ground. The wing also has four down force adjustments , most of the time I run at the lowest downforce setting , but when it rains I crank it donw ot the highest makes a big diffrence. Heres a link with some good information on the 99 spec parts. hope it helps
