why would my alarm suddenly stop working?

my alarm just all of a sudden stopped working the other day. it's not the remote's batteries or anything like that. it's like it doesn't even acknowledge the remote's signals. what could this be? it doesn't go off or arm when the door is locked. is there a receiver that maybe has a bad wire. also the little horn hasn't worked for a while. Why would that be. i don't know very much about alarms so try to keep it simple

It's probably an inline fuse. Find the alarm unit, and trace the wires back until you find a plastic "bulge" on one or more of the wires.

Sorry, but there are a lot of ways to install an alarm. It makes it hard to diagnose something like this.

What kind is it? Do you know where the alarm "brain" is? If you can find it, start tracing wires back...

Maybe you have a basic keyless entry system hooked into the stock alarm...

omg alarm problems? damn now im reconsidering installing my alarm ... umm if your alarm is anything like mine there should b a 20a fuse connected to the parking light and a 5a fuse connected to the battery ... check those if you havent already. jus a question for anyone ... how many main parts are ther to a alarm? i have 3 units plus a siren... is that correct?
