^ADS does make some good speakers especially their 3 series line. Honestly the only good brand you listed was Bonston they make incredibles speakers. The others are just so so. Be nice if you listed a price range. Many audiophile comps include focal, dls, morel, rainbow, CDT, JL zr-1 if your looking for high quality comps I would look into those brands. I own a pair of rainbow pro series, approx $600 and would but them up to any system I have heard including the utopias. I previously has the alpine type x comps which are their best comps and they do not even compare to my rainbows. With no price range, rainbow makes a platinum comp set at $9000 which includes white gloves

My man... Too bad GOOD stuff like that requires R&D while the car's being built. And when it's done like so, the sound is AMAZING (my friend's Volvo C70, Dynaudio, w/ 12 speakers). It's a freakin orchestra...

tjeter, from the brands you listed, no offense, but all are well... crap, minus Boston Acoustics. Boston makes AMAZING component systems. I'd recommend going w/ a Pro 65, or if you can fork over the money, the Z6. HOLY....sounds PHENOMENAL.

listen to purerx7, between his suggestions and the ones u listed, MB Quart is a bit more economical, and has a great sound..

when i did audio, my goal was to sound different than everyone else. You can find anyone off the street with the speakers you listed (maybe not so much boston)

...all my speakers r german imports (comps are discontinued, so i cant help you there), its a very unique sound

It depends on what price range you are talking about. You can't really go wrong with the previous listed companies though. I personally am a fan of the Boston Acoustics Z6.

for clarity and quality, go for Dynaudio or Focal...they make some very nice home theater equipment, and their mobile is just as nice.
as for subwoofers, if you want nothing but stupid bass, Resonant Engineering or Adire Audio.

I mentioned this in one of your other stereo posts - why don't you go to one of your local car audio shops and listen to their speakers and buy the ones YOU like? Buying by reputation isn't always a good idea since sound is subjective, and everybody looks for different things.

Personally, I've run MB Quart, Boston Acoustics, CDT Audio, and Diamond Hex separates in previous cars and they're ALL excellent speakers. Out of the bunch, the Quarts were my favorite, however, I would *not* hesitate to recommend the others.

And BTW, Dynaudio, Focal, a/d/s/, and Rainbow are more of the esoteric brands which will be harder to find, not to mention expensive. Same goes for Morel, Vifa, Adire, Eton, Scan Speak, Peerless, etc. Plus, if you want them to sound right, you'll need a a higher end source unit and amp (both $$$) to get the cleanest sound you can get. You don't mention your budget, but if I had to throw something at you, the best entry-level component speakers you can probably get are the Infinity Kappa Perfects, and Boston Acoustics' Rally series.

There is no one best but many excellent choices. You will never go wrong in buying from MB Quart, Focal, Vifa, Dynaudio, ADS or Boston Acoustics though.

You should also solicit auditions in demo/customer vehicles....what sounds good on the board may not sound the same installed. All cars alter the tonality a bit due to installation locations, sound absorption, and/or sound reflection.

Also, music choices plays a role...A/D/S and Boston Acoustic are quite smooth and may not be good for metal/rap. Focal tweeters sound harsher on the board than in the car. Etc...

I think it's really important in a 7 to get something with a soft dome tweeter ... from my experience, tweets just are too close to your head in a 7. Metal domes are typically more harsh, and that's accentuated when they're close to your head ... and I also think phase differences are more easily spotted with a metal dome tweeter.

Agreed. The interior of a 7 is so small and with so much glass hard domes can get pretty sizzling. I have never liked hard domes except in large cars with lots of interior volume and upholstery.
