Where can I find Alpine transmitter?

I was working my car to fix the globebox.and I Found the alarm unit Haven noticed there is a alarm since i bought the car(2weeks).

I took it out.It is alpine 8040.looks like little old but still better than nothing.and all the wires are hooked up.

so I guess I just need transmitter.
Where can I get it is it still available?

YOU'RE IN LUCK!

I have a NEW three button transmitter. I believe it is for the 8040. Does your alarm have a dual zone sensor? I will check and see if it is for your model. Send me an email at LongRX7@yahoo.com.

Wrong, LOL 8040 has a 2 button transmitter (its square with an oval button and a smaller round button for EXT - 2) .

You can use about any older Code ROM remote from Alpine (good luck finding them tho that alarm is almost 8 years old). I got a crossrefernce at work somewhere Ill try to find it, but make sure everything is hooked up, (make sure theres a siren etc under the hood etc) before you go through the trouble to try and get a remote. By the way i got the same Alarm on my 85 GSL, its a radar alarm

The original models came with a stock square two button remote. Newer models have an oval shaped remote. The rectangular one has three buttons and it does work with it, because I had the Alpine alarm with the dual zone radar sensor on my 84 turbo Z. I had to order a new remote since it was tossed in the swimming pool. I ordered two and only used one, so I do know that it will work. Usually the radar sensor is in the central part of the car. If you have a 3rd gen, then I would guess it is sitting on top of the transmission tunnel, probably underneath your ashtray, cause that is where my radar sensor of my Clifford is located. I just went to dig it up (alpine remote). The model number of the remote is 8441, and it will work for the Alpine 8040 alarm. The extra button is just for extra channels. And on the box that the remote came with, there is a note that says "Due to product improvement, design and specifications are subject to change without notice." And regardless, I think most all Alpine remotes are interchangeable. You will probably need to get an Alpine dealer to set up the remote.

Yeah I checked I don'y have one, but any 8400, 8401 or 8441 remote should work fine.

BTW: That alarm didn't come stock with a shock sensor, it came with a feild distubance sensor that is likely mounted in the center console.

Checkout www.pacparts.com

They are the Alpine parts dealer in North America. I have bought parts from there before for my Alpine 7982 three disc in dash; I think they have alarm stuff too.

I got one, looked in my tool box its a 8440 remote, standard on the 8040 alarm. It works or used to last time I used it, but the case doesnt stay together anymore (maybe some super-glue, black tape etc LOL) ...By the way I have the same alarm on my 85 GSL (and Im positive it has 1 oval button and one round one), im using a remote that came standard on a 8035, I beleive its a 8435 remote. Any standard code ROM remote will work....

To get it to work take the remote apart, and replace the battery its been sitting a long time. Inside the remote is a code rom, remove the code rom carefully. Open the alarm brain, and insert the code rom into the slot, (i got some Dox on it somewhere I can zerox and send with it) Press the reset button a couple times (this will erase any other codes too) and the LED light should flash each time you press reset, remove the code rom from the brain and place it back in the remote. this programs the remote to work on your brain. Now you ask the price, how bout merry X-mas, send me your address and Ill send it to ya

By the way, those were a real bitch to set up so they didnt false, im so glad the days have evolved for radar sensors LOL

By the way LongRX , I am an authorized Alpine dealer LOL

Im not laughing at you, but I know the remote you are referring too. It will work the alarm, but you cant turn the exterior of the radar off with it. Or least I havent found a way other than the 8440 or 8440A remote. But anyways any advice is good advice...
