I have searched everywhere on the net and cannot find the paint code for the 1999 RX-7 Red. I was told it is called Red 2000 unlike my Vintage Red. The 99 Spec spoiler came with this color and want to match it. Please can anybody help with this?

 

I asked this question twice and I was told it was the same VR. It sure doesn't look like it.

 

As far as I know you are right...it is not the same red!
I read something about it some where, ill see if i can find it.

The color that you are refering to is the same color that is on the 2004 Mazdaspeed Miata, it's called Velocity Red Mica, that's the color you're looking for. I only know this because I plan to paint my RX7 this same color.

I dont think so, the red off the rx8 looks deeper at times. Out of all the things that are mentioned about 99 spec, the only color that never been for sure is the red.wtf

 

Right in the 99spec parts book it says Vintage Red.

Lot guys here use polymide polish, which may make it look different.

The RX-8 red is different. It's a metallic paint, while Vintage Red is not.

 

I just checked the RX8 parts book and its Velocity RED so yep its different

 

I ordered the 99 spec spoiler and it is a whole different red. I guess I will just find the closed red and paint the whole thing. For all who is thinking about ordering this spoiler...it does not match up with the factory holes. You also will have to weld 2 holes up...Just more money Ill be dropping in to this money pit!

 

Where did you get it from? The RED hasnt changed for the FD humm very weird.. Your sure your car doesnt need a polish or has been repainted or the 99spec spoiler hasnt been repainted?
