what do you think of Blaupunkt
Just wondering what everyone thought of Blaupunkt electronics. I am thinking of using them for my 7's basic setup. No amps or subs, just a nice headunit and some decent speakers matched with it. Heres what I have in mind:

Feature/price/functionwise, theyre nice. Ive never been a fan of ony of their designs though. They tend to spread the buttons out on both sides of the radio, and it leaves little space for display. Their Displays always remind me of toys.

I like the kenwood head units and the Kicker speakers, personally. CHeck out the smaller shops and avoid the big national chains is my advice.

blaupunkt head unit
I have a Blaupunkt Toronto head unit in my 3rd gen and it looks great. As for the sound, I noticed a completely fantastic performance boost over the bose unit that was in my car previously. Playing through the Bose speakers I get a nice crisp, clear sound. Mine is an older model but I am completely satisfied with it. The Toronto unit is also keycard protected. Good luck in your adventure.

I've got those speakers in my FC, they're great value.
As far as the deck goes, I can't stress enough. Stay away. My friend has a similar Blau unit and the volume pot is electronic. It had to be replaced once, and it's the crap now with the new one. When you turn that jog wheel for the volume the unit recognizes the notches as stepped increses in volume. Great if it works, but the mechanism gets screwed after about 1 month of use and when you want more volume sometimes it gets confused and actually turns it down. Or it may turn it up, but you have to go ultra slow and ensure it recognizes every single notch. By this time you want to smash it into little bits. It's just a horrible design flaw, other than that the unit is fine. Rotary ***** are the best.
