Question Blaupunkt Head unit / will power antena operate with aftermarket stereo??

Silly question, will the power antena operate with an aftermarket stereo?? I am looking at a Blaupunkt that is black with matching illumination to stock int. It is a fold down detachable face unit. BTW, anyone have any experience with installing a Blaupunkt unit in their FD?? Also, I currently have the Bose radio/cd player combo with the sad Bose wave system. Any info. is appreciated.

Yeah, there should be a blue wire (maybe blue w/ white stripe) that is known as the antenna turn on lead (as opposed to amplifier turn on). Get a harness from the place you get the radio and just splice it together with the Blaupunkts harness and then it's just plug and play from there.

Thanks jr., this is what I'm looking at. It's a Blaupunkt with size code of EK or ISO DIN and mounting depth is 6.625 whatever the hell those numbers mean

It'll fit, out cars are ISO DIN, it's just a code for a standard size and mounting method. The stock non-Bose stereo is 6 1/2" deep and if you add the little rubber bump stop it's over 8" so the Blaupunkt will fit fine.
