i want to paint mine kandy brandywine, very nice red, just a little darker than kandy apple red. only thing stoppin me is the fact that my car is black i don't know if i am comfortable with such a dramatic change.

The best advice I can give anyone interested in painting their car is to choose a color that you'll be able to live with for several years. Don't pick something trendy that will look out of date in a year or two. For example, look at all the turquoise/teal colors that were so popular in the early 90s. When was the last time you saw teal available on a new car? 1993? 1994?
Coming from someone who has about $1,700 worth of DuPont Absolute Purpleen color shifting paint underneath a new coat of Corvette Electron Blue Metallic, I know what I'm talking about. The trendy colors quickly become old as everyone and their brother gets the same color, so stick with the classics. Red. Blue. Black. White. But not Montego Green...
I really want to paint my car the Carrera GT Silver Metalic. Great tone of silver, looks almost like it has a hint of blue in it.. IMHO, would look awesome on my FC w/ tinted windows and gunmettal BBS wheels... kinda a silver/black theme.
Since your car was (is) black, it really will not matter in my opinion under the carpet and things like this. However, at least do the engine bay and inside the doors.
One guy made a good sugggestion...don't get something that will look cheezy in a couple years...
Below is a pic of one of the most tasteful aftermarket paint jobs I have seen on an FD. As good as that looks now, I believe I took that pic in 1999, so it is holding up. However, a color like that is likely a 3 stage pearl, so unless you are having it done by the best and plan on spending several thousand on the work, it will turn out poor. So if the paint job is to be only normal quality / price, you may want to run with a more simple color.
