Vented Headlamp Covers (FD)

Alright, so the rear mounts on both of my headlamp covers have snapped, presumably due to heat soaking. I'm looking to go to the vented right cover, and a stock left, and have them resprayed to match the (faded) paint. I know some of you must have the vented ones, so how are they? Do they actually work (it looks like you have to cut the back of the housing a little bit)? Carbon vs FRP, in terms of durability? And which ones seem to be the best? I like the more bulbous look of the FEEDs, but the material looks like super thin plastic, and not suitable for use on any car, really. I did do a search on this site, and after about 5 pages, found nothing that really answered my questions.

Best,
-Lane

I have one with a naca duct. I didn't have to do any cutting. Mine is fiberglass and it did not fit at all but some heat and a little grinding made it work.

Does it look like this, to an extent?:
If so, I'm not opposed to that style, but on a stock body, I prefer the look of the more bulbous design. Chargespeed seems to have something similar to what I'm looking for. Would you happen to have any experience with them? And if anyone has any experience with this particular product (they're a bit pricey, so if anyone knows of a good substitute, feel free to throow a link my way), please do make your opinion known: Chargespeed USA - Offering the best in aftermarket body kits

Thanks for the help,
-Lane
