Question Tricksy little door.

I'm trying to replace the passanger side weather stripping and I can't get it around that thing attached to the door infront of the two main hinges. There's a pin attached to it and it looks like it should pull out but itwont' go past a certain point. I tried wd-40 but it won't budge. Is there any trick to get it out? Wanna take care of it if possible. Also, is there a way to pull off the stripping without breaking the plastic tabs? Thanks for any help.

The pin is easily removed with easy taps of a hammer.
