I remember there was someone asking in the 3rd gen section what a Topless FD would look like. For the love of all things rotary, don't do this to your FD.

It could have been done alot better. take off the wing, put the jdm rear seats back there so the aero buldges are moved back about 1 foot..

not the prettiest thing in the world..... diff wing, put the jdm seats in..... that would make it look 100x's better.... but still probably wouldnt looks as good as the normal coupe.....

 

if they'd just done it like the supra's removable roof i think that would of been lovely

 

It's called a "Targa Top" and yes, that would be cool. but Del Sol's have them too, LOL

Damn that is ugly. I can't believe someone would waste their time and money to uglify their car like that. imo, the rear hatch is what makes the FD unique in its own way. Look at all the generations and see that all of them have the distinctive hatch. Targa would be better but it may weaken the car. It would be interesting to see a targa top FD.

Without the top and with the resculpted rear, it looks heavy and huge. Not to mention Fugly.

 

I agree with the majority...EXTREMELY UGLY!!! Targas would look tight, but why change one of the best looking cars ever designed??? I guess if you had a ton of money and time and you were bored...I would do it to one if I had two FD's...Just my two cents worth.

not jspec rear seats, get custom seats made and fitted, so theres room for someone to fit back there.

 

Amen to that!!!! I'm 6'4" and riding in the back would be hell with the JDM seats..... glad you though of that!

That is sooo ugly.. It has to be a photoshop... look at the shadows on the rear humps and the line in the parking lot... they look very drawn on..

That targa photoshop looks sweet though. I'd love to have one.

BTW, there is a pink topless FD floating around japan. Does anyone have pics of it? I had some on my other computer, but my primary harddrive's controller card fried... so I'm stuck with my laptop
