For those who have installed illuminated rx8 ****
Question, all the wires and whatnot under the shift panel of my 93 have been cut and rearrange as a previous owner installed a wired radar detector of some sorts....maybe even an alarm.
Anyway, my question, the harness that comes with these obviously is for the rx8, so could I just cut off the clip that is attached to the **** it's self, and splice those to wires with the two wires that run to the ash tray light bulb?
I read herblenny's write up, but man I really need a little more info if I am to do it that way as my setup under there is a little different, not to mention I'm not the best electrician in town.

Yea you should be fine. Just hook positive to positive and negative to negative. The only other thing to check is voltage on the **** and the circuit you are tying into. As long as you arent trying push lots of volts from one to the other then you are all good. I hope this makes sense! Good luck.

That's what I thought, but man it's hard to just do it and just see if it works or not when I payed what I did for this thing.
Granted, it's not like I can't put it back together in a nice and clean fashion....it's just cutting it and hoping it works, that puckers my butt.
