The prices are so cheap and tempting - can the quality really be that bad? Anyone have any experience with these or know anything about them? opinions?

Just remember what you think you might save on buying a cheap *** kit you will end up paying a body shop to fix in the long run.

Since you're asking for opinions I'd say it looks like a great way to depreciate the value of your car.

the question wasn't if you like bodykits or not, it was if the ones on ebay were of questionable quality

Do you honestly think a $290 bumper is the same quality as one that cost $700? Be reasonable..

Go away and spend your money but don't expect sympathy when you get a bill from the body shop for $1000 because they had to spend 12 hours molding and cutting it to fit right.

I have seen a number of these kits on cars and can tell you for a fact you will be impressed by the quality. There are very few imposter body kits out there that are not of decent quality now. I myself have an original CWest kit but would not knock the idea of replacing anything damaged at a track event with one of the above linked parts. Most companies are now able to out source a very cheap carbon producer and that has taken a large toll on the market. The term JDM no longer carries the stigma or support it used to as much of their respected products are not produced there. Many times people mistake a brand name for quality when in all actuality it is the technique used to press and lay the carbon that will equate to quality. By now it has become common practice to just produce the cheapest and most organized pattern on the more visible side.

Good luck and if you really cared about retaining value as some other guy mentioned, you should have bought a Supra. I for one bought a driver's car.

I have a 99 spec knock off from ebay. What i got was a front bumper with rough edges and is wavey on the top and the cut off around the headlights was terrible. Bodyshop did alot of work. Certain angles you can see that my bumper has some waves on the top part still. It sucks.

Some may be of questionable quality, it looks real cheap and all till they rip you off with shipping. That's why I don't buy much **** on ebay, most people make their money on the shipping and everyones too stupid thinking "hey this is cheap as hell" without even checking out what shipping should actually cost. I think some controls need to be put on that ****.

Sorry for the rant, I just get pissed when I see a decent deal on stuff on ebay, then you see it's like 100 bucks for shipping when it costs them 15 bucks to ship it.

Some of you guys are laughably deluded if you think a $300-350 body kit is anything better than junk. And $150 shipping is very low for 2 bumpers and 2 side skirts, almost too low....

I can totally agree, shipping is where they make the most money. The kits themselves will require a bit more fitment than an authentic might, none the less both will require bodywork. The real question is time of delivery, ease of replacement and your requirement. If this is for a show car, you may be better off with the real deal versus if this is a road going car.......... save the heartache of watching it get ripped up and put the extra cash towards the replacement that is enevitable.
