So I've inevitably come to the point where I want to get rid of the seats in my '83 FB, and looking online, found that there are race seats and off-road/suspension seats. Can someone shed some light on the differences? Have you used suspension seats in a road car before? Used them in a race car before? I am finding a surprisingly small amount of information on the differences between the two.

Also, I understand that suspension seats don't have to go through the rigorous testing that racing seats do, and are "technically unsafe". That is not what I'm asking about, I am just curious about functionality differences: ie when doing things like mountain runs on public streets, will there be a big difference between the two?
