stereo capacitor?

hi
do you guys think i need a capacitor for my sound system? i'm running a 120watt 4 channel rockford fosgate amp. 2- 8" rockford fosgate woofers and 2 fosgate tweeters. i'm just concerned that the electrical system in the car, will be able to keep up. i dont want to fry a alternator or battery.
also does anyone know how much room there is for new speakers in the kick panels, as far as depth goes?
thanks

Well it is never a bad idea to run a cap , you shouldnt need more than a 1/2 farad for you application.

Do your lights dim at all when you are running the system loud w/a lot of bass? If so then a capicitor is a good idea.

If not I wouldn't worry about it.

imo, for every 1000 wats you need 1 farad so 1 full cap
seen as your not even running 500 watts dont waste your money on even a half farad. unless you plan on upgrading your stereo large..., btw half a farad isnt worth it just buy a full farad for 20 bucks more.

I'm buying a $260 full farad Stinger Pro series farad.

My car has 40 watts going to each set of speakers (40 front, 40 rear), and a thousand goign to the two 12 inch subs.

Its loud. (this is in a 1st gen)

140 amps on the stock alternator, if that much. caps are overrated and useless, get a deep cycle dry cell battery, preferrably an optima. red top for under the hood or a yellow top as a secondary in the back. my secondary is under my hood but thats not always an option. dont forget to put a battery isolation relay between the two if you choose to do so.
aninstaller@hotmail.com if any further info needed.

You've got a FB. The Alternator Is self Is mundane at best. If you are plan on upgrading your stereo you should take the time to either upgrade your Alternator or get a Capacitor. I went through 2 Alternators before I got one. Ironically enough, I stripped my stereo In whole as of right now In my s4 with a simular set up as yours.
