hey guys what are the speaker sizes for a 86' FC GXL if it matters.

 

in the shock towers?? what speakers? the ones in the front under the dash and 4.5", the ones in the shock towers are 6.5"

 

yeh i wanted to kno all of em... my car didnt come with speakers... arent their speakers on the door panel?

Some of the later models had speakers in the door (6.5 inches) but I don't think your 86 does.

The shock tower opening is actually 8 inches wide, with an adapter in it for either 4" or 6 1/2" speakers, depending on model. If you need one, you can get 6 1/2" adapter kits from crutchfield.com or off of ebay. Or, if you are so inclined you can make your own ghetto solution like I did.

 

yeah, 4" under the dash and 6.5 in the doors and towers. I work at the roadshop at circuit city and i've also seen factory molds behind the carpet that fit 4x6 behind each seat; that particular appliation was in a s4 coupe. don't forget your system is probably factory amplified so you'll want to do an amp bypass. If you run a 4/5/6 channel up front you can just avoid that mess, and that's what i'd recommend.
