Simple sub enclosure, pics

Over the past weekend I made a sub box out of 3/4" particle board and sealed it with foam and silicone. I wanted to make sure I still had enough room in the back hatch for my wakeboard so I used the existing storage bin area. Overall it worked out well and fits a 10" Sub.

well done, very clean. Now you just gotta find a way to blend it into your interior for stealth

Yeah I have carpeting on the way to redo rear hatch so I plan on laying that over the box aswell.

I have a sub box that fits completely under the passanger side storage bin and houses a 10" type r (not a small sub) facing up and almost backwards. I took the storage bin frame and cut it open and put a grille on top.
Then I could leave the storage bin door closed, and the sound travels up through t he carpet. It was sweet. Open the drivers side bin and voilla, amp on a floating amprack!

The car it was in is gone, and I never got pics but I still have everything from the setup. If it ever gets back into a car ill get pics up.

That sounds great. How did you get enough volume for a ten inch sub if you put it in that small of a space?

A 10" sub, depending on the model and make can function efficiently with as little as .75 Cu Ft, which is pleanty room in the storage bin. Personally, for me, 10's would be a little much got the size of the gen 1 cab, but hey, what ever floats your boat.. Nice job..

Actually there are 10's out there than can work in .2-.3cu/ft, and 12's that work in .3cu/ft. That's sealed, a vented box will always need more volume than sealed for the same driver.

I don't see that box being .75 cuft. I did a custom fiberglass install in te stoage bins and only got .75cuft, all that before displacement of the sub itself. Use some packing peanuts and fill a box with them to see your internal volume.
