I just bought my rx7. And am not too too fond of the shift ****. Certainly different than my previous shift ****. I am asking for suggestions. Money is no issue. Thank you greatly.

Get the rx8 shift **** from www.rx7.com (not sure who else sells it). It has the 5 speed gear pattern on the top. Really nice quality, but expensive which shouldn't be a problem since you said money is not an issue.

mazdaspeed is my favorite especially if you add the leather shift boot and brake cover..looks classy. It's a little larger than stock with a much better feel/grip and it says mazda speed vertically stamped into the black leather

 

I would go for any mazdaspeed shift ****.

 

I'm perfectly happy with my $7-from-ebay miata shift ****.

 

Am I the only one who doesnt find the Rx8 shiftknob appealing?
I have/like the Mazdaspeed carbonfiber shiftknob (the skinny stick one? lol) and ball shiftknobs.

 

I was just guessing he wouldn't like the mazdaspeed leather shift **** since it is just like the stock one which he wants to get rid of.

I like the feel of the shift ****, it really does feel good in my hand, however, to me its not good when im trying to heel and toe or double clutch. ill check out mazdaspeed and rx8 shift ****. any more suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

i like the one i have, its a shifter out of a stock 2003 WRX, its made by momo, its covered in black leather and it dose have the 5 speed marking's on it.

the reason's why i like it. 1. i shift from the top so the round top of the **** fits better and feel's good. 2 it screw's right onto my stock s5 shifter, 3. the bottom of the shifter fits through the stock hole in the boot, just like the stock s5's.

I dont have a pic of it, sorry.

 

Where did you get the stock wrx shifter? ebay, or just found a junked shifter?

yep!!

The RX8 shift **** we're referring to is not the one that comes stock on the RX8. It's a lighted, rotary shaped **** that some of us purchased thru a group buy led by herblenny on the forum. I still think the **** is one of the best purchases I've made. Looks like it was meant for the FD.
