What do you want to know about the hood? I know it's a favorite, everyone seems to like it and it's functional as well.

maybe to you, but since I've had it with the newer bumper and paint, all I get are stares. I've had the car close to 10 years and the last year I can't go anywhere without someone's jaw dropping....yuppie moms, teens, business guys, everyone at a gas station.

They were strongly recommended and I figured it was a good idea anyways. If you look at the pics I think they actually look pretty cool - I used the red anodized Sparco ones.

The replicas like the rotary extreme one are usually pretty good quality. I dunno about this one on Ebay tho. I personally don't care much for the hood unless a lot of the exterior is modded (full tastefull kit, etc.).

Not to hijack but yeah, after all that work it got hit by a Land Rover, went back to the shop got it back for 10 days or so and then I spun out in the rain and totalled it.

The car looks worse than is now because I've stripped it off almost all parts for sale or else moved them into the Blue FD you see there. The one good thing is those Volks you see on the Blue one hadn't yet arrived when the car was wrecked so nice break there. The Blue FD was an automatic with black interior and it is at the body shop right now getting redy to be made just like the old red one was except now with a stronger port, the Amemiya D-2 Side skirts/fenders and of course now the Volks.

I'll post new pics there when I get it back, hopefully in about 12 days.

Replica from Rotary Extreme (where I got mine) was like $1150 plus $100 or so shipping for FG version.

CF version is a few hundred more, like $300 and is just carbon fiber over FG so not really worth it unless you want a CF look...I was painting mine anyways.

They come with CF rain guards but I can't fit the, (I have 2 sets for sale if anyone wants them cheap).

I can't speak for the original Scoot but the Rotary Extreme Replica to me is just fine. Obviously good enough for someone to steal mine once

just out of interest why cant you fit them?? is there not enough room under the hood for them?? and if so is it because your engine bay is standard or non standard??

also how easy are they to fit and remove??? i.e take them off in hot weather and put them back on in the rain, do they screw on or glue on or what??

sorry about all the questions!!!

It's my intercooler. I have the Large Pettit (m2 knockopff) intercooler. It rides a bit high....because I have an airpump. If I ditched the AP I could lower it.
At this point I'm having an issue with my transfer of parts to a differnt car even with the strut bar (because I'm using metal intake pipes too).

I don't think I need the rain guards anyways. I have now instituted a No Drive in Rain policy which I always hates in the car anyways and now caused me much suffering. It's no big deal.

That is the MB front end. I like it because it looks the best IMHO and it's relatively dirt cheap and thus easily replaced without toop much dinero.

Anybody in CA wanna buy my replica scoot hood painted vintage red? You'll have to pick it up at my house though. $1100 and it's yours.
