Save our RX-7's (Tips)
Hey guys, I thought we could start a thread to offer tips on keeping our RX-7's in tip top shape...
Before winter is a great time to get alot of things done to preserve them.
I think its a great time to:
Wax & touchup the paint, even the door james and hatch area.
I am a big fan of Undercoating, area's like the wheel wells and along the line where you jack up the car are prone to rust, so make a barrier between metal & water...
Its also a great time to change antifreeze, oil, gear & tranny fluids if their due...(Of course keep your car in good tune)
Keep the interior clean too. Vacume as needed, leather treatments keep leather seats in good condition or if you have interior stains, use some interior stain remover...
With Winter coming here in the midwest, I like to apply a fresh coat of Rain-X to all the windows, I really like how effective that stuff is!
Also its a very good time to replace wipers if needed.
Feel free to add any other idea's or helpful hints on keeping our RX-7's in great shape!

What a bunch of pansies!
A few things I consider important:
-good fuel injection cleaner. One bottle of Techron every oil change.
-your car has drain holes in the doors, in the hatch 'trough', for the sunroof, and a couple of other places and a drain for the a/c condensation and the fresh air intake for the ventilation system. Clean them and ,make sure water flows freely. If it does not, water will collect and the car will not 'dry out'.
-a good half hour to an hour drive (highway speed to get it nice and hot) once a week or so to heat up and dry out the exhaust and the motor. Short runs and city driving are conducive to moisture formation inside the exhaust system (ever wonder why exhaust systems corrode from the inside out?)and inside the motor (condensation can collect in the oil. Not a good place for water is it? especially, if you are going to lay the car up for the winter).
-and the first and foremost practice: fix things before they break and use decent quality parts.
