rx-8 shift ****?

i was just wondering if the rx-8 shift **** will fit the fd? the stock rx-8 one is cool with the rotor on the top, although we dont have a 6 speed tranny. i was actually more interested in the mazdaspeed ****. with a short shifter kit i think it would be really nice. here's a pic:

Those Mazdaspeed ones are pretty expensive:

However, they look nice!

I called mazdamotorsports about a month ago with the same question...

They weren't sure. I was going to recheck with them as soon as I saw the RX-8 officially being released here in the US....

keep us posted paximus

The leather Mazdaspeed **** is comfortable, the Aluminum/carbon are not (my opinion).

The problem with leather is that it will get warn and end up looking terrible (just like the stock ****).

If you think $104 is bad for the mazdaspeed **** -wait unti you see how much the oem style rx8 **** is. If you have a heart condition do not read beyond this point.

damn, i didn't know it was backlit. thats badass!! not badass enough for $320 though. so if the mazdaspeed rx-8 **** will fit then the stock rx-8 **** should fit also. i just dont want a **** that the kid down the street with the civic has. with the short shifter, should be:
small throw = small ****.
my buddy has a ss kit and the rx7 mazdaspeed **** and its just too tall in my opinion, and i would like to stick with mazdaspeed stuff. thus, the reason for the post.
decisions, decisions....

The price is from JT imports. They have a bunch of other oem rx8 stuff on the site. Among the other intersting items is a rotor shaped key. Unfortunately, it costs $120. it's just a simple key too, no alarm function ect.

911GT2

did you get your motor from KD? I "kinda" bought one from Dave today. I say kinda because we're not going to firm anytihng up until we find a source for a couple parts.

Mazdaspeed? There have been people using those for a while on FD's.

I'm using the Razo weighted CF ****:

http://www.corksport.com/store/index.php3?item=719704

Works well with the RX-7 Store Short Shifter. Looks good and is weighted so it also has functionality.

Oh no. I have no idea if that will fit or not (not that I care, I think it looks nasty). We (at least what I was replying to) were talking about the Mazdaspeed.

well, we are refering to the mazdaspeed rx-8 ****, not the fd mazdaspeed ****. in looking up at posts, it seems that our original answer of the fitment of rx-8 ***** on fd shifters is still up in the air. Mahjik was the one that said that it will fit, but now it seems that he doesn't know. anyone else know if the RX-8 MAZDASPEED **** will fit on the FD SHIFTER??
i think Mahjik thought we were talking about the fd mazdaspeed ****, not the rx8 mazdaspeed ****.

"For $320 that shift **** better be able to give me a back massage while cruising on the highway."
a back massage? i was hoping for a little more, although hard to keep focused on the road at times

my local dealership is getting in 15 rx-8's (yup 15). i may just have to stop by and see if it's the same size. they said they will be getting some in this month. still debating on one or not, i think there's a brilliant black 5 speed with my name on it.... or the mazdaspeed version next year. hrmmm...

No. The display cars usually have the ***** removed to prevent them from being stolen by people EXACTLY like you.

The automanufacturers get really pissed off when their cars (while on display) get vandalized. Do you realize the amount of damage that occurs to these cars by the end of these shows (which normally span a couple of days to several weeks).

I've seen knife cuts in leather. I've seen gum rubbed into upholstry. Scratched paint. Garbage/food wrappers left in cars. Oily hands all over the car. Scuff marks...

Do you think replacing entire panels of leather is cheap?

And you some times wonder why auto manufacturers don't open more cars to let people sit in.

If you're willing to "gank" a shift **** from a car show, what will you do to other cars at a car club meet? If someone at say...a RX-7 club meet is nice enough to show you their car and let you sit in it, what are you going to do? Steal their $hit too? I've got a FEED shift ****. Want that? I've also got some nice items under the hood of my car. Want that too? I've been to meets where $hit gets stolen. Not cool. Makes people REALLY reluctant to even show up at a car meet, let alone open their cars for display.

People like you really **** me off. F'n thieves...

Grow up and remember these words the next time you go to a car show.

OK GUY since you know me so well........I go to meets once a week in atlanta, and Ive sat in lots of people ****......never had thoughts of stealing anything from anyone......I made a generic statement about ganking a shift **** from a display car......And half the people that where there with me were talking about the same thing...(all members of the S.E.RX-7 club) So you wanna call all them theves too?.....**** YOU!!! .....And yes I would steal your **** because you are an *******.....Have a nice day
