Without getting into an argument with anyone, I would guess because it's trying to be a corvette-miata-viper

Some of us know exactly what we're look at when we see that car, an ugly RX-7.

Taste is something that varies between people...so some may like it, some may not. But to call it ugly...that's a stretch IMO.

Also, I appreciate the incredible amount of work that went into making the car look like that. It's all molded on. You wouldn't believe the amount of work that was necessary to get the car looking like that.

Sure, some things about the car don't float my boat, but I still *appreciate* it. Def. don't think it belongs in the List of Shame...

I think it's pretty fricking gaudy, but not to level of the other cars in this thread. But it's definitely lacking taste: scoot hood+c-west front end (or whatever it is)+Mazdaspeed fenders+HORRENDOUS wing = tasteless.

Well, I agree that the work done is very good. However, the car they chose to do it to was a terrible choice. You can't make a RX7 look better by tacking a bunch of bondo and fiberglass to it. It just looks like a chubby FD now. But, that's my opinion. That car is long gone anyway..

Yea the car tooks too chubby, the wing is blah, and the scoot hood is overkill. The rear end is kind of missing something IMO, and I've never been a fan of sleek headlight kits too.

Maybe I'm just really partial to the molding job, and that I really like the C-west front end + Mazdaspeed GTC sideskirts combo. In fact, I have the same combo, and was thinking of having the skirts molded, but my bodyshop guy *strongly* advised me not to. Apparently the body of the 7 is designed to flex at certain points, and if you try and mold on a peice that long, it's bound to flex elsewhere...(assuming you actually drive your car). Sure, the molding job may look incredible now, but it can crack pretty much at any time and any point down the line...so I decided against it.

jdhuegel1, i love the sig haha. What was the context? Did that kid post about an accident he got into or what?

i don't pay too much attention to what the engine conversion guys says, but i was under the impression that if you swap a v8 into a 7, it is no longer a 7. it doesn't matter anyway.

although it is ugly, you gotta hand it to the owner for getting it in the shape it is. thassa lotta work!!!

It may have a T-88 but still doesn't go. You have to see that car for yourself. The owner F'd it up really good. It's ALL SHOW.

THANK YOU.

Almost all of the "tuner" mags are complete crap. I remember the write up on the supposed 800 hp FD -- the damn thing had never even been fired up and the owner was saying, "oh yeah, should make about 800 hp." Whatever.

I fail to understand how anyone can spend tens of thousands of dollars to destroy an FD by making it into a riced-out undrivable showcar.

But how is that car any different than a Civic with a body kit, a diffuser that will never be used, a wing that will never be used, etc. The answer is, it isn't. So many people on here make fun of the "typical" Civic owner but then they want to do the exact same thing to their RX-7s....

I get tired of the hypocrisy.

That S15 is gorgeous. I agree with Mandie, as long as you have the power to back it up...does it matter what color it is? And it doesn't even have to be power, I mean total package...power, handling, stopping, driving ability.

I gotta agree w/ rynberg...it doesn't matter whether you have parts that are non-functional (civic ricers) or you have functional parts (t-88) that you don't use (jay's orange FD). Both are rice, both are a waste, but the FD is even a bigger waste, because you're literally making a trailer bitch of a car that was built w/ only one purpose in mind: to DRIVE...and drive like no other.

Stuff like that actually bothers the hell outta me. You should see the extensive amount of bodywork I've had done to my car. But all the guys who went with me to Rotary Revolution and the Carlisle Sport Compact Show etc know, I definetly don't treat the car like no show car. I thrash her...because that's why I bought the car in the first place.

Speakin of which, I remember in that very same article where 800 hp was claimed, the mag. asked for a burnout...and he said no, the tires are too expensive...LOL. What a waste.

Was Crashunit's car also a trailer bitch?
