I want to throw some rice at my car (just a little). For some reason I like these taillights. My car is totally 100% non-rice right now (not even a wing). It's PEP Chaste White if it matters and these..

Anyone else running these (that will admit to it?) What do they look like? (I was thinking of taking them apart and painting the silver bezels' black..)

 

That's disgusting. They look like wannabe rx8 taillights... Bahh yuck. A member form Europe had those when he brought his FD, he switched it back to stock because it was so ugly. If you're going to get round taillights, convert your stock to 99 specs.

 

I think they would look great with the chrome/silve piece painted black. Go for it man.

the problem is the fact that the lights dont match the factory centre piece. The centre piece that comes with the ricer lights look absolutely garbage.

 

I have to agree with this.

If you really are getting them at least paint the silver part black like you said.

 

i would save your money for something else thats worth it. Extra hoses and couplers or something.

 

I like them alot, but I just have better money to spend on things like this. pwwatkins, if you are selling for way less than eBay, than I may just pick them up from you.

 

Ugly, Ugly, Ugly imo. Everyone has different tastes though. if you like them then get them. It'll make your car more original compared to the rest of the fd community.

Impulse buyer that I am, I purchased them. I have the Shine tail light wing, so hopefully it covers it enough to not be so noticible (the silver rings). If they are, take them apart paint it black. if they are terrible, chuck 'em on eBay.

 

The Center piece in the picture (blue FD) looks black. Is it like that or the ugly 3 sea shells (ha ha, he doesn't know how to use the 3 sea shells..). Sorry for the Demo man tangent...

Someone just bought mine. I think they look ok, and if you get sick of them just take them off and sell them. It's pretty quick and easy to do.

 

I dont mind the ZomK Speed tail lights they look ok.

When you get the FD's from Japan, a lot of them have the Altezza tail lights.. IMO, not a big fan of them what so ever.. But those Japs will do anything thats crazy!

But if i had an FD i wouldn't even change the tail lights. To me the stock ones are sexy as hell

 

i lived in Japan for 3 years and went nuts looking for my fd, never saw one with clear tail lights!! was offered one with a tow bar though OMG!@!!

Honestly, I think they're decent at best. If yo uget them I'd paint the chrome trim black.... then tint the housing to match the stock tint.... just my 2 cents... looks missmatched with the stock center light being so much darker

That's too bad the clear ones have 'black' trim around the red parts. The black ones should have that (instead of chrome).

theres a picture thread of your favorite fds. in the first 20 pages or so theres a pic of a superautobacs display car with those clear lights and the stock middle section, the tints dont match and look cheesy. saw it a few days ago but too lazy to now.
