retrofitting ebay headlights?

Hey guys,

I'm looking into retrofitting my headlights on my FD w/ projectors. I was wondering if anyone here has bought ebay headlights and retrofitted them? the reason I want to use ebay ones is due to the clear lense...rather than buffering out the stock housings...basically I'm trying to do as little work as possible, meaning if the ebay lenses are clear, less chance of me messing them up and not "buffering" it unevenly lol

anyway an example:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/93-94...Q5fAccessories

I was thinking of getting those, and retrofitting them...i think the housing and the lense is put together by just glue, i don't see any metal clips like in regular sealed beam units like our stock headlights...

I'm familiar with retrofitting as i retrofitted mercedes bi-xenon projectors into my R33 Skyline last fall, so just seeing if anyone here has used ebay headlights to retrofit...

I was thinking if i was to use the ebay headlights to retrofit, I'll just put a film of clear lamin-x over them to protect them if they aren't too sturdy...

You might want to work with a light that is FD specific. and put your own projectors in.

No they're not the same. The ones you lined to are for the FC. Don't believe everything you read on the interwebs

What did you try searching? that link doesn't come up with anything...

I tried searching online for conversion kits...i looked all over ebay but they are all pretty much the same as the one i listed above in the first post here...

dammit...

i'm not looking to spend much, so was hoping to find a set on ebay since i plan to cut it up for projectors anyway...lol

anybody have a link for a cheap conversion kit?

or am I not searching hard enough on ebay? lol i've tried for the past few days going through different search strings like "fd3s headlight" "rx-7 headlight" with "conversion" "projectors" "crystal" and such all add in lol
