any geniuses out there?
ok so i'm wondering with all the technical advances engineers have made in software, hardware, and design why can't someone figure out a way to remove scratches/retexture in TEXTURED plastic panels? Is there a chemical or an engraving mold or even a heat method that could make an old scratched (but structurally sound) panel look good again. I write this drivel because i am so tired of replacing beat up pieces in my fd. The dealer charges an astronomical amount (door panels over a grand each, dash $900, storage compartment $600, rear speaker panels $350 each as a sample) Ok so i'm **** but a lot of are. Anybody?
Pretty common to repair scratched, cracked, or otherwise broken plastic in cars.
Call a automotive vinyl repair guy. If you have more than a couple of car dealers in town there is sure to be one.
Typically in CA I paid $50 a panel to be repaired on-site. A bargin in my book.
