Replace Audio

Hello again.

My FD is doing well, but I'd like to replace the radio "head unit" with something more modern. When I replace the head, I also want to add:
  • Navigation (With wifi Updatability)
  • Backup Camera - it would be nice if this could also function as a redundant rear view mirror.
  • Connection of my IPOD via Bluetooth or Wired USB
  • Connection of my Android phone and my wife's Apple Phone
All this through the new head. Of course, like all these other projects, I haven't a clue to what I am doing, but will tackle it anyway.

My questions, if anyone is interested in answering are:
  • How many speakers are in the car? It is a Bose Acoustic Wave system so I am guessing:
    • Center dash speaker
    • Left and right door speakers
    • Bose Snake in the hatch.
    • Are there one or two speakers in the wave guide?
  • What configuration of a head unit do I need to drive these speakers?
    • How many channels?
    • Can a modern head drive all the speakers that are installed directly, or will a separate amplifier be needed?
    • Can the speakers already in the car be reused or should they be replaced?
    • Are the factory speakers of standard sizes or custom sized OEM units?
  • How many amplifiers came in the car? Can/should they all be bypassed/removed if I can find a head that can drive all of the speakers individually?
  • Is there a rear view camera that anyone here really likes?
A lot of questions I know, But I am a blank when it comes to audio.

Thanks

Multiple Existing threads answering all these and more. In short. Each and every speaker has it's own amp. Aftermarket head unit won't work with the Bose system without an adapter. 2 speakers in the snake.
