Red Paint Color Suggestions Needed - A little bit darker than S4 and S6

Hi,

I know there are a million threads like this, but I was hoping you guys could give me some suggestions. My FC currently has sunrise red and I don't like it. I'm not sure what the FD red was called, but I'm looking for something probably a little darker than that. I'm not sure that I quiet like the "Redfire" color on the Mustang, but that's sort of the direction I was thinking.

Thank you.

Guys, thanks for the input. From that picture it's hard to tell if Tornado red is darker than vintage red.

That's part of the problem that I run into. For instance, Ford's Torch red in internet pictures looks too light. Today it was quiet overcast and I viewed a Mustang in Torch red. It looked very close to what I was thinking of. On the flip side, Ford's Redfire looks fairly right in pictures, but looked almost maroon or crimson today.

The 99+ FD red is a bit different, right?

DrPJM1, can you point me in the direction of some images with those colors? Is Corsa Red the newer Ferrari red or the scarlet red of cars like the 1994 F1 car?

Any further suggestions?

Damnit, 2x post. I don't get it - I refreshed 2x and loaded with a different browser and couldn't see the first one.

Yep, same thing here. something a little darker. I just figured when I find a place to have it painted they could show me something.

Tornado Red is beautiful. I used to own a Volkswagon that was this color and it looked great. VW also makes a cool green called Dragon Green Pearl Effect.

The Rx8 red is nice - has a gold flake in it.

Audi had a darker red that they put on their TT's a few years back - looked amazing. It was basically the same tome as the brakelight lense. A deep red.

The Red on BMW M3's is really nice too.

And of course any of the Porsche reds are quite nice.

The best thing you can do is go around to different car dealerships and see the paint in the flesh - on the car. You'll be surprised where some nice tones come from. My friend painted his car a dark metallic burgundy - from a Dodge Caravan!

EDIT:

Here's that TT. Looks deeper in sunlight:

Wow, that TT red is awsome. Of course all cars at shows look awsome, I'll have to find some other pics of that color. Thanks. See this worked! Any other suggestions?

Bump. (I know I'm not suppose to do this, but the above post didn't do it because the forum wasn't responding so I stoped and reloaded)

I'm not exactly sure what that paint code is, and years they offered that colour, as they did make at least one other red that was more orangy.

Here's a few more:

I believe that's Amulet Red. It seems to vary substantially based on the amount of light. When it's a little dark it has a lot of crimson, but in the light it's like this:

There's also Missano Red and Brilliant Red, but Amulet seems a lot cooler. I don't know if there are any others, I'm trying to find that out.
