I was all headstrong on Vintage Red with Volk Racing LE37T with gunmetal face and chrome lip. . . until i saw that. . Now i wanna do that silver/blue with Kenisis K27 wheels. . . . . . If you know anyone that may know, would ya mind shooting me a pm? thanks bro!

Not to change the subject, but why does the pic of the Odula hood (from their own website) look like crap? Does anyone have any experience with it specifically?

For those with black cars, there is a way to "blend" in the gray of the cf. What they did with my hood (Knightsports from Chuck) is a layer of clear with black "airbrushed" or fanned lightly into the clear, then more clear. At extreme angles the hood looks black, same color as the car. Get up close and look directly down and the CF weave pops out in the sunlight. Lots of depth and looks fantastic.

Because it is. I get and sell original RE Ameiya products all the time. For people who want to pay a little more and get the original, they can. It's personal choice.
So why is it so funny that RX7Rage bought the original one?

Hi guys,
I just recieved my hood from Chucks facility down in LA. I got it an hour ago, and I just got done installing it (by myself) a few minutes ago. I still need to drill holes for my hood pins cause I am wary of the latches strength. Besides, Chuck recommends installing hoodpins.
I just had a small question though, does it make a difference which location I use to drill through? I've used the bump stops behind each headlight for my stock hood, but I want touse the ones between the headlights. Is there any difference in the thickness of CF material in both of those locations? or are they both pretty much the same?
one thing that got my attention were the installation on the rotaryextreme site. Can anyone clarify what he means by it's very important that you do not drill through the second layer or you will be unable to close the hood."???
Anyways here are some pics of the AD9 (Chucks N1 hood) on a VR FD.

Ludeowner, is the hood in that pic yours, or someone elses? If it is yours, is that the replica or the original?
Also, btw, to tell if yours is real or not, it should have the RE Amemiya stamp on it. If im not mistaken, they stamp everything, just like other major companies, correct? I could be wrong, and if i am, please do correct me. I know someone knows the answer to this
Regards,
Chris

The car is mine, I took the pics shortly after installing it...probably an hour and a half after the delivery guy dropped it off. I ordered it from Chuck at rotary extreme, and I asked for the replica (N1 hood), so I cant answer your question about the stamping.
The temperature drops are very noticeable, moreso then I had expected. I was in 20 MPH traffic moving along pretty slowly. During that time my temps got up to about 200 F, once I got up to about 45-50 MPH my temps went down to 185-189 F. All this happened during 3 in the afternoon with your average California day (it was a little cooler today).
