R1 and R2 dash
I was wondering if the tachometer redline is 500 RPM higher on the Type R models. I'm looking to buy and I need to know some easy ways to distinguish the Type R from the others in pictures I see on the internet. I know of the seats, but most pictures only show the exterior and sometimes the dash. Too many people add the front lip and rear spoiler so I can't judge by that. For the engine i can see the strut bar. Are there any additional ways to tell if it's a Type R from pictures?
Thanks,
Jon

there should be an oil cooler on each side of the car, you can see them by simply looking into the air ducts on the sides of the large one in the middle. All true R1s/R2s have that. Also, they aren't type Rs, simply either an R1(93) or an R2(94-95)
tach is completely the same on all models(touring/R1/R2/PEP/base), your thinking about an Integra Type R with the higher redline, not the case on these cars.

All R-models have dual oil coolers.
.. and the R's have no sunroof and suede-like seats. (I believe it was possible to get R's specially ordered with sunroofs, but it would be REALLY rare).
imo, there's not enough difference between the models to eliminate choices based on their trim level.... just find one in good shape and go from there.

Actually the tachometer is different between '93 and '94-'95. This applies to all FDs. The '93 has RPM ticks down to 200rpm increments, the '94-'95 has 500RPM increments. All R1 and R2 models have dual oil coolers. R2s have softer shocks than R1s, and Touring/Base/PEP has softer still. All FDs have the same springs. The best way to tell an R1/R2 imho is check for the rear wiper. R1s and R2s are the only ones without one, and rarely do people remove them. R1s/R2s were also unavailable in CW (chaste white) and MBM (montego blue metallic/mica). In any case, this always comes up and I always say the same thing, don't get stuck on getting an R1/R2 unless you autocross in SS class, because you'll probably make a worse sacrifice to have the R1/R2 if you're limiting yourself like that. You can always equip the car like an R1/R2.

Thanks for all the replies everyone
sorry for calling it a Type R
Since it says R and has the "race" package I just assumed...won't make that mistake again i guarantee it

It does depend on condition though, even with 46k>...

Base models have the wiper as an option only.
(base model owner with no wing, chin or wiper but who added the second oil cooler
)
