1. I have seen both the rotary extreme and the re-amemiya hood in person, and the rotary extreme hood fits BETTER. I have talked to Chuck in the past about this, apparently they fixed the inherent problem with the gap between the hood and the front bumper. Either way, when I saw the ad9 hood in person I was NOT impressed, especially when comparing it to the rotary extreme hood. Now this could be attributed to the owner of the ad9 hood not properly installing it, but installing a hood is not difficult.
2. Price. Although I have a "money is no object" attitude, I still like to keep things within reason. The FRP ad9 hood is $1400 and the cf is I believe $1900+. That is A LOT of money for a frp hood and doesnt factor in shipping. I picked up the rotary extreme hood from another member for $1025 shipped in CF, although that was irrelevant since I am going to paint it anyways.
It is a shame that rotary extreme stopped making their aero line, as they had some great fitting pieces.

Sooo, my re n1 hood came in today and was destroyed from shipping. I wont go into further details until I know how the seller handles the situation. On that note, it completely screws everything up. Need to find a new hood, again.
1. No more used hoods, sick of dealing with this BS, so I can order a new frp authentic re-amemiya ad9 hood for $1400.
2. Garage-s hood in frp, run me close to a grand.

Not sure if the hood is too aggressive. I think if I go with that hood I am going to need a more aggressive setup. So I will then probably sell my r-magic fenders and go with the feed front fenders and a nice pull on the rear fender. Which got me thinking, now that I have +25mm fenders, I can get pretty aggressive with offsets. The lms are still tentative, but I might throw some concaved ce28n's on it in black or I dont know anymore. This hood messed up all my plans.

I paid ~$550 for the mirrors brand new, I believe cfrp is around $700. The mirrors use the stock base, just picked up a set from a member, so once they come in I can install them. They are GORGEOUS, I love how subtle they look, and they really define the lines of the car too.
Pure I'm so tempted to give you **** and ask if you are going to do the sleepy eye mod to your FD! Hope Atlanta treats you well and looking forward to seeing all the progress in person when you return.

On a side note, I have decided on this setup for my gauge cluster.
2002 cluster
re-amemiya white kmh speedo
re-amemiya white boost gauge and pod.
No the SC not the IS
I have been looking at that color, their is a really nice blue that comes on the sc430. The red is called Matador red and is one I have been debating about. Just looks a bit to pinkish in the sunlight, although some pictures it looks fine. I will need to take a better look in person.

Then I might be "tempted" to stop looking for your illuminated rx8 ****
Its a tough call because the cfrp are only another $150. I would have gotten the cfrp if I was planning on keeping my hood carbon fiber.

I've seen 2 metallic / candy red FDs in person. I didn't much care for either. A little to sparkly for my tastes. I prefer a more subdued, classic look of a nice Vintage Red or other solid red. I had Viper Red on my last FD and it was a little brighter/redder than the VR. I think I prefer the VR to the Viper Red. I did see Jack Mardikian's Ferrari Red FD in person and thought that red looked good on the car also. The red looked deeper but not as 'bright'.
I like the AD9 hood better b/c its a bit classier and less aggressive than the other. YMMV.

Those gauges look sharp, I'm going to be picking up some white faced oem gauges as well
Btw, I had to make a decision on paint back in 2003 and am glad I stuck with the VR......anyone who's seen the car in person can attest that the stock VR, sprayed right, looks phenomenal

That is not my dash, but that is how it will look soon.
I looked up the color code, it is Matador red, for both the IS and SC.
Some updates on the car:
1. Got the hood installed, looks okay, better then the seibon.
Problems:
a. Both ends are chipped from shipping
b. The front is a bit off, the left side is sticking up, but the right is fine.

x1000

2. Put in the authentic spirit-r shift ****

3. parts ordered:
a.Feed front fenders (that means my r-magic fenders will be for sale soon)
b.Burnout rear flares, I want something identical to this, you can see they smoothed it out a bit more then normal so it flows better - that is what I am shooting for:

Going to run BBS lm 18x9 + 20 and 18x10 + 20
I am still waiting on the mirror bases, I will post up pictures when they are installed.

Updates:
1. Mirrors installed today.
2. ordered brand new AUTHENTIC re-amemiya ad9 hood, frp.
3. Still waiting on feed front fenders and burnout rear flares
Mirrors look AMAZING in person, photos dont do them justice. I can also see out of BOTH left and right mirrors.

Yes sir, this hood is already sold though. My new hood, will be hood number 5 in the past two years. Eddie, I do have a sweet feed sr exhaust currently available.

VERY tempting but it would take some work for me to mate up with my long tubes. Currently my exhaust is one piece 3" from the long tubes back.
I think you need to finish your car just so you'll stop having to buy crap. lol.
BTW, love the mirrors!
