Psp

I have decided i am going to use a psp as my in car video player. Not only does it have amazing quality, but it has mulitiple functions. I will post pics and the results in a later post. I was just wondering if anyone has done this before, or has a recommendation on the types of brackets i could use. I want to be able to have a "clip on, clip off" effect so i can also use it for other purposes.

Its something new anyway.

Its been done.

I had a guy at Gamestop buy a new PSP off of us to put it in his daughter's Power Wheels Hummer.

For the clip on clip off effect I would use a bracket from one of those PSP surround sound stations where you have it sitting on your desk. You could also use the speakers with it, too.

Well, that is a little bulky for my taste. You know those cell phone holsters? I was thinking of making a cutout in the dash, and installing one of those inside the cut out. I have an ipod ready deck, and a cable so i can hook the psp up to my sterio and also run it off of it too. I am not sure if you were joking about the power wheeles hummer thing or not... but whatever.

No I wasn't making a ricer joke towards you. THAT REALLY HAPPENEND while I was working last week.

Another idea that I would like to try sometime is get some paddle shifters, get a psp, and a steering wheel with airbag gutted.

I think you know where I'm going with this. Use the paddles with some levers so that when the PSP is mounted the shoulder buttons can be used.

That's the main thing I don't like about mounting things like that, you can use the shoulder buttons while its mounted flush with a surface.

Of course!

Then again, I like to just sit in my FB and play my gameboy when I'm on break at work. Sometimes I forget my gameboy, so I just sit in my FB for no reason at all.

For me it would be cool.

I was doing some research on the psp earlier. And remember seeing something like this.
http://images.google.com/imgres?imgu...3Doff%26sa%3DG
http://dork.jxbb.com/psp.jpg
First one is a PSP mounted to a bike(just for kicks) second is in a car
Hope that helps.

yeah that would look fantastic sitting in a parking lot jerking at your steering wheel staring at where your air bag should be. This is a terrible example of "Keeping it real" that may undoubtedly get you fired for pretending to drive your car. or, even better is everyone staring at your steering wheel while you drive !

haha, actually im gonna have to agree with Tranquil on this one. Velcro to the sun visors looks the best without looking like a tool for spending time getting rid of one of two of the car's only safety features.

Dude, get bent. No one gives a **** about what you have to say. You are a complete asshat, and you're remarks are not funny, or cool. We all know you are a big homo who loves to **** his father and best friend.

Do yourself a favor and check yourself before you make a *further* *** of yourself. This thread in no way partains to you or your idiotic comments.

I swear, some of the people on this forum need to grow the **** up, and shut the **** up. I am sick of dumb *** people making negitive comments, just to make them. Get a ******* life, or a girlfriend and stop bashing people on a ******* WEBSITE. Jesus.

if you're gonna put it on the dash or steering wheel. make sure you design a bracket that lets the psp stick out at least an 1 1/2" off the dash/wheel. this way you'll be able to switch movies and stuff w/o having to take the whole unit out. imo it'll be hard to see it during the day time because of sunlight and the glare from it. i just did a lil test fit w/o the bracket and it maybe a lil ricerish but it looks pretty good. want me to take a pic of it?

you can use the remote to eject the movies??? cool, i need that. lol

but what i meant was if you wanna switch movies, stick the psp out a couple of inches to remove and put in movies, then you could use the remote to chance tracks. remember you gotta put the movies/games on the back of the psp

Thanks for the pics titostoy and the remote idea luiml73. I really like the carbon fiber dash piece. Where did you pick that up at? Also the tweeters are a great add on. Nice work.

nice interior lui. did they make an adapter to put it on the monitor? i have to check that out
thanks for the compliment nopistons. my dash is actually the stock with the vynl(sp) sticker. but i think speedmachine.com sells the cf piece but you have to drill out what you want in it. i'm planning on buying it a few months once i get a monitor and the rest of my gauges to do a custom look
