Yes I have had this problem in the past under the exact same conditions. check the fuse under the hood that should be the problem then it will work just fine.

thanks for the heads up on the fuse...I checked mine and all were fine so my CD player problems must be something else.

Mine does the same thing. It just accepts the disk, scans it, and ejects it. Once in a while it will play for a few mins but then ejects it. It's the stock bose one so I'm thinking it's just wear and tear.

John,

What was wrong with your unit? I'm not sure about mine since it's a new, factory plastic wrapped CD player and it just accepts the CD then sits there making the sucking the CD in noise but never starts to play it.

If you could take it apart you could try cleaning the lense with a cuetip and isypropal alcohol.

Tim same ill,s as your cd player. not new. But united was the only place that sed yes we can fix it fix it. I took mine to 3 repare shops in cincinnati ohio. No luck. It came back 3 times not working.= cant get parts. chrissrt4 is right on with the alky. but dont cut the tamper proof (warinty) tabs. if your cd is new take it back. If you do take it apart do the alky and a verry small small small amount of vegie oil on the sliders

Thanks for the heads up and the link to their website. I'm going to give them a call to see if they will still work on our units.

Mine does the exact same thing. I sent it out to a place in the northeast with a donor player I got on Ebay for 30 bucks. They said it was clean but that it needed parts that are no longer made or exist. The donor cd player was from the same company but 3 years newer and never used.

It's hard to believe they couldn't do something to repair it. It can't be that hard, at least for an electronics repair guy. So they sent both players back and I just stuck the donor player in the car. It looks and works great until you see the lights are green.

I have seen cases with all CD players where condensation forms inside. It will spit out the CD until the player internals reach a balanced temperature and the laser eye can properly read the signal.

Let us know how that works out. $145 seems pricey to fix the cd. I bought one used for $50 and it works. Well, for now anyway.

OK so I waited until last week to send my cd player into United Radio and I got it back in 6 days. The reason they were so quick is they sent me a reconditioned cd player. Cost was more than first price. They charged me 185 shipping included. I get a one year warrenty with that price. Works great for now. It was worth it to me but I guess some would say it was too much. But I have the system set up with a JL 1000 watt amp and JL speakers for the stock system so I was invested.
