Potential VIS GB (99 spec bumper)

I made another thread because the other one was getting pretty big. I just got off the phone with Sunny at VIS who's been working on making this front bumper with me and I've got some good news and some bad news. Bad news first. When they make a front bumper mold, the original is no longer recognizable so getting that donor bumper is a no go. It's only a minor set back. Here's the good news. We're probably going to get to see the front bumper fitted to one of their 7's before we buy the bumpers. Also, they said that the more we purchase at once the better the deal he'll try and cut for us so if we can get close to about 20 people committed he said he'll try and knock it under $300. Here's where I need help. I don't really know Jason that well and for some reason he's either not getting or not responding to my PM's (2 sent so far). If any one can talk to him for us it would be a huge help. Any suggestions are welcome. Feel free to PM me or drop me an email at chris_chung125@yahoo.com Fear not, this bumper isn't just wishful thinking yet. Any and all who are interested in an under $300 99spec front bumper with pictures of fitment coming let me know here on the thread. Thanks for all the help and support.

-Chris

if the fitment was good and that was the price, I don't know how I could pass it up!

Awsome!

Lets get some more people! Tell everyone and their best friend. The more we get, the less we pay and the more likely that VIS will do repeat business with us again. If this goes well I'd be more than happy to pick up a 99 spec wing thing going with VIS. No more on the wing. This is about the bumper. Any more takers?

Thumbs up

Put me on the list of "if it fits I am interested" but it just sounds too good that they would go through the trouble just to test fit one for a group buy. But if you can see it mounted before the purchase and that is gonna be the price, I am in.

Oh yeah, WITHOUT the holder of course

Rob (Stage Performer) does a ton of business with VIS. I am sure he can cut thru some of the fog. Maybe give him a call 425-576-9690.

Will this just be the bumper cover or will it come with the re-bar and other components as well? Also, will it come with or without the front license plate holder? What will it be made out of?

I'd be interested only after seeing good fitment and quality from the bumper.

I'll go out on a limb and say this doesn't have a shot in hell of happening. Anyone remember the Pettit 99 front GB?? The thread is still in there. All these people "were in", and all we needed was 10, yet I think 4 of us actually bought it. Now you are expecting 20?

Maybe cause most people don't want an all fiberglass bumper. I know I will NEVER buy one. Also, some of us NEED a plate holder on ours since we live in states like California.

Just a thought.

Considering this is about a hundred dollars less and isn't fiberglass and the company's reputation for not having fitment issues with their kits, we have a better chance of getting more committed people. Maybe it is wishful thinking. Hopefully not.

Shinobi X:
The bumper is going to be made in your choice of polyfiber or fiberglass, but I recommend the polyfiber because its easier to fit on cars and is supposed to be a lot tougher than fiberglass. So far it is only the front bumper skin but I'm trying to see if we can also maybe get the lip and oil cooler ducts as well. (No license plate holder)

That doesn't explain the ton of people that said they were in, and knew the aspects of the bumper, and never bought.

We'll see, good luck.

Fumanchu: I'd personally like the bumper with or without, but the thing is that in order to have one with and one without, they need to make two different molds so what we'd have to do is get twice as many people. I'm under the impression that more people want one without. That's what we're going for right now.

Then Just get yourself one of these... they're the brackets that fit on the stock '93 - '94 bumper, you should allready have a set, drill some holes and put that on the Vis '99... problem solved
