Pictures of a stripped interior?

Has anyone stripped all the carpet and padding out of the front of their FD, and painted it nicely? Pictures would be great. An estimate of time and difficulty would also be great. I am also worried about how quickly I would beat it up. I would put aluminum in the areas of highest use.

You'll ruin the finish in no time. Unless you brushed off your shoes each time you got in the car there is no way to keep rocks/dirt/sand/water/etc/etc/etc from getting in there, it would be a pain in the *** to keep clean and as soon as you dragged your foot across it and caught a rock you'd have to repaint it. Only way I see something like this working would be to use the rhino liner material, even then it would be a bitch to keep it looking nice.

Yea I know the downsides. Just curious if it has been done. As I said, Aluminum will be used in the high traffic areas, its the lower traffic areas I would like to paint.

I'd imagine the entire floor would have to be an aluminum scuff plate then. It would look sweet but would get damaged easily and would be very hard to keep looking nice if you do anything other than roll it on and off a trailer.

I think it would look cool if done correctly though, i'm also interested in seeing if someone has done it. It just doesn't strike me as practical in the least.

I know Lupe took out the sound dampening material on the floorboard, but I don't know if he took any pictures or if he left the carpet out of it. He did his for weight loss.

Which is one of my reasons, but not the only one.
I am thinking an aluminum interior might be pretty cool.

honestly...people dont ditch their interior for looks. a full interior looks better. but a gutted interior looks more hardcore. if you gut it there's pretty much nothing you can reasonably do to keep it looking pretty

You could weld in new metal to make it smooth, there was a thread on this in the FD section.

The guy who was doing it said don't bother unless you plan on doing the work yourself. Cost too much and takes to much time. And he owned the body shop in Atlanta.

I have seen his car and know that money may not be a problem for him, but I don't know if he has the time to do it with the show season comming up soon.

Please, post the rest of the pics of the exterior and engine bay harness you did. Or better yet the link in the third gen section.

Looks like an AIM MXL dash to me. You can also use a racepak digital dash for a little cheaper.
