but anyway, it is DEFINITELY the Feed version, i had not seen that before, but that is definitely it... the RB version is close, but not as smooth and doesnt curve as much...

The FEED looks much nicer than the RB(don't mean to offend people with the RB). Tomsrx7 has a nice front lip on his car, he bought his with the lip on it too so he's not sure on the type but both he and I think it's a FEED front lip. The FEED tends to round out the front a little more(more aerodynamic?) and the RB sticks out a little more IMO.

I would imagine that he asked the owner when he purchased the car. IMO, from those shots, I don't think you can definitely say it's NOT the Racing Beat Air Dam.

However, if you look back at CTHIS RX7's picture, you'll notice the bottom side of the Air Dam flaring out just like the Racing Beat picture. It's just from a lower angle so you can't notice it as much.

yeah get the sides molded...post pics or pm me when u do. I dont like mine...it looks cheesy. It isnt as refined looking as the rest of the car. Molding the sides can be the answer though.

Oh I know.. But I asked him what air dam it was and he wasn't sure. He thinks it's the FEED airdam and I do as well.

Hi guys. First, there was definitely a mis-communication between me and black99. My front spoiler is [b]not[b] from Feed. What I had said was that the Feed was the closest one to what I have and, IMO, it's the nicest one out there (as far as current choices/options go- cuz I like mine the best, but I can't find it)

My spoiler has a sticker on the inside of it that says "G-BRAND". I've searched for over a year and never found that company; apparently they were a small company that probably went out of business. Or my other thought is that "G-BRAND" may be a sub-company of Racing Beat and that my spoiler is one of their earlier versions.

Anyhow, for the debate that is going on here, there is no doubt that CTHIS's spoiler is the Feed. He did not buy it, so that's why he doesn't know. The pics prove it. I blew up the Racing Beat pic so everyone can see the Racing Beat's upper holes are squared. And the main mouth's lower line goes up, so it's more of an oval, emphasizing the main mouth.

Now look at the Feed; it's main mouth's lower edge (or line) goes all the way to the outside edge.

Anyhow, my spoiler, as well as all the others out there, is made of fiberglass. The stuff ALWAYS eventually cracks and looks like crap. I used to have a flexible eurathane one on my '88 Convertible and it lasted 6 years before finally cracking; the bottom finally rubbed too thin from rubbing on driveways and dips due to the car being lowered But it took 6 years of rubbing to do that- not bad!!

Well, this post is getting long. The last thing I want to say is that if enough people like my spoiler, we could all chip in and pay a company to make a mold out from it and make them out of eurathane; say good-bye to cracking spoilers. I think there are 2 companys near me that could do it. I love mine cuz the lines make the car look wide and low (the FD, IMO, is really a narrow car and to make it look wider is a big +). And it's not all ricey, not like that "combat" crap.

Also, what does it mean when they say the sides should be moulded?? I was seriously considering buying one. Does anyone know where you can by the Feed version??
Thanks,
Kevin

You can get the FEED Air Dam here:

http://www.rxecret7.com/feed-03.html

As for molded, they blend the separation of the two body parts so it looks like it's all one piece.

I still don't belive it. TomsRX7 has an opinion, but the fact is no one here actually purchased that air dam and put it on CTHIS RX7's car, so no one can be correct.

It's quite possible that Racing Beat has changed the design over the years, or that it's the same front and it's just the angle that makes it look different.

The fact is, everyone is guessing so you can call it what you like. Unless you purchased it yourself, it doesn't matter.

Yep, that's kind of my point. We can stare at pictures all day but none of us are the ones that ordered or installed it.

Hehehehehe, you guys are funny. I'm not trying to push my opinion on anyone here, but... I entered this thread, there was a debate going on on what brand the spoiler was, and I thought I sufficiently supported my opinion with photos.

Let's think about this and use wheels as an example. If you see a pic of a car with some nice wheels, and then I show you a pic of the same exact wheel at www.tirerack.com and it's an SSR GT3, I think it would be fair to conclude the wheels on the car are SSR GT3's. Would you guys come back and say that I don't know cuz I'm not the one who bought them and it's not my car? I don't think so. You guys just don't wanna be wrong or what? Come on fellas. A sharp eye can pick up on the smallest details.

Not trying to be a dick here, just asking you guys to try and be fair in your comments.

And yes, the FEED and Racing Beat are VERY close, just that the FEED is a little more rounded and smooth looking while the Racing Beat has a little more of a hard edged, squared look. If you saw them in person, then I think you would realize those minor details do change the "tone" or "attitude" of the front end.

Anyhow, I agree it's not a major issue worth debating any longer.

-Tom

Tom,

No one is saying you are wrong. IMO, there is nothing that shows that CTHIS RX7's air dam is NOT the Racing Beat Air Dam as he says. I do say that the pictures show that it could also be the FEED Air Dam. However, IMO, I still see nothing that says "CTHIS RX7 doesn't know what he's talkinga about."

The only thing I know for sure is that your front is either some different version of the current Racing Beat Air Dam, or something completely different altogether. I don't think any of us know how many (if any) versions Racing Beat has produced of their air dam. It's quite possible that they produced an exact replica of FEED's Air Dam for a while until FEED stopped them. I know I don't know, do you?

Oh well sorry about that man. I was wrong, I now see the differences in your front spoiler and the FEED. Must have been a miscommunication like you said. Sorry again.

It's all good buddy Maybe he can take it off and look inside it. I would imagine that whoever made it would put some kind of sticker or mold an emblem on the inside.

I have never seen any other Racing Beat versions, but I obviously can't speak for them- maybe they did. In any case, I am curious if mine was made by them so I'll try and give them a call tomorrow and email them the pics. I would love to buy my same exact one again.
