No sound in headrest or behind seat speakers

I just bought a ‘90 vert with 68k on the odometer and everything works fine as you’d expect besides the radio. I can get sound from the speakers in the doors but the headrest speakers do not work nor do the speakers behind the seats. When I turn on the headrest speakers, I can hear a popping noise as if they are powering on, but no sound comes out even when sound is coming from the door speakers. On top of that, the display in the radio is stuck on “tape” regardless of what setting you have the radio on. Made finding the radio stations VERY difficult haha. Is there any wiring I should check out to see if I can get it all fixed?
