New idea for hidden electronics
I'm working with the idea of finding a non working original radio for my 82, (dont want to ruin a working one lol). and find a boost controller/turbo timer.
I will gut both the radio and boost controller and put the guts of the controller into the radio and put the controller lcd screen behind the factory radio tuner lens.
then hook up the radio dials and buttons to the controller functions so that when the car is off everything looks stock but when you turn car on you have a nice sleek sleeper controller/timer set up.
once I can aquire the parts it should take me a day or 2 to complete, if there's extra room in the radio case I may add an audio input jack for an mp3 and run it to a small amp to power the speakers so i can still have tunes and not have to install a hidden radio somewhere.
what do you guys think? am I crazy for thinking such an idea? lol, I may do similar hidden performance things elsewhere in the car i have tons of ideas and will do build threads on each one.

sounds interesting but wouldn't it be more practical and easier to have a working stock stereo and hide the boost controller? get an AudioControl LC8i to run an amp through the stock radio and have an audio input hidden in the center console. put the b/c in the glovebox. everything will look stock and be easier. I did this in an 84.
I would like to hear your other ideas though if you care to share.

Thanks Red95FD for your input, I have thought about doing that as I've done something like that before but i wanted to try something different and new. as for other ideas I will post them as the time comes, but one involves the factory clock. I have bought a cheapo controller off ebay to test my idea first before I destroy a $500-$600 controller haha. once that comes in I will build it and see how well it goes. Thanks Bubbles it should be pretty cool if it turns out good which I think it will. pics will be posted as soon as parts arrive.
